Chef Sandina Polgar!! Our own Chef Sandina won the personal chef throw down!! Thanks, I'm sure, in part to her wonderful assistant Kathy Koze! The event was a huge success.
Congratulations Sandi, and congratulations to Soroptimist Clubs of Trenton Area and Flat Rock Area in helping such a worthy cause - First Step Domestic Violence Shelter.
The real winners of the evening are the families of Wayne County that can find shelter from violence.
Bravo!

Thanks Sue!! I had a great time, and yes, having Kathy Koze as my sous chef was an added bonus-that girl peeled and chopped more butternut squash than she cares to remember! Everyone seemed to have a great time (from what I understand, since I was slaving away in the kitchen, thank you) and we had good numbers, so I'm sure we made some money for First Step. I had a chance to visit their new facility just before the Throwdown, so it was another added incentive to do well. Thanks again for your support!

The event was a blast! I totally enjoyed being a part of the event. Sandina was AMAZING! I was thrilled (and flattered) to be invited to assist. I have a whole new respect for her and her incredible talent. Almost 200 people were served the finest meal prepared by Sandina. The entrees were beautiful and tasted AWESOME. Yes, I was able to sample! Sandina won the challenge!!!
Sandina...you are wonderful and have a heart of gold. You are my hero!
If you ever want to impress your family and friends, give Sandina a call. The presentation is beautiful and the food combinations are exquisite (I don't even know how to spell it!!!).
Dinner with the Mrs...that's what I'm talking about!

The throw down was terrific! Mark and I had a great time. I'm not exactly proud of the way I acted, but it's over now and I can't unring a bell. Here's what I did...wanna know??? The couple that was sitting next to Mark had to leave early...before all the desserts were served. BUT, when the servers came around, I LIED and said I thought they went to the bathroom...just so my table to get extra desserts! Am I a bad person? Maybe, but Sandina's cooking will make you go to extremes! Everything she prepared was outstanding! I especially loved the butternut squash lasagna. (I wish that other couple had "gone to the bathroom" when that was being served!!) Thanks for a wonderful evening, Sandina and CONGRATULATIONS on your victory!

LOL! Leanna I would have done the same thing!! In fact, I practically did! The Trenton Servers came to our table with an extra serving of the butternut squash lasagna - so we got an extra piece!! I think that was my favorite dish of the night.
I can't wait until fancy schmansy holiday hors d'oerves cooking class!! (can't spell it either.)

Pam sounds capable........besides, they'll be several Trenton Area folks at the class, (and a Soroptomister, too, if you want to bring your hubby since he's feeling a bit better) so you'll kind of be at a meeting!!!! Let me know!
