I will not be able to attend the DADBA breakfast meeting this month. I am working, actually helping out a woman co-worker who is taking chemo treatments for breast cancer.
I will miss you all.
Blessings, Linda

Just to update: My friend Sandy's doctors at Karmanos have told her that her inflammatory breast cancer is localized in one area. Praise the Lord! She is currently receiving chemo and awaiting surgery. I continue to work in her place until she is strong enough to return to the job. I will see those of you who stop in tomorrow @ the DADBA offices from 2-6pm to learn more about a SendOutCard Holiday campaign or on the 18th at Crystal Gardens for the DADBA Expo.

That sounds like very good news for your friend. My mother had Stage 4 IBC three years ago. She had very successful treatment. I'm sure your friend will have similar results.

Thanks Sue. I will pass that on. It is always good to learn of the positive results of treatment. Right now all she hears is the side effects and stories from people who lost their moms and sisters and aunts from breast cancer. Everyone needs to remain positive during this time. A positive attitude makes a BIG difference. (On reason why I am working for her--she worries about loosing her job.)
Blessings, Linda

Well, feel free to tell her about my mom. My mom was 64 when she started treatment, was given a two-year prognosis of "poor," and wasn't in the best of health when she started this ordeal (COPD). That was in 2006.
Treatments are tough (the surgery was probably the easiest part), my mom had chemo, surgery, more chemo, radiation - but she is here today because of it all. She's cancer free.
