I was laid off on Oct 5th from EDS/HP after more than 14 years of service. I have an IT background. This was due to work force reduction from the HP acquisition.
I also am experienced: Microsoft Office Suite, fundraiser specialist, event planning, customer service, technical writing, and sales.

Thanks for the tip on Will, Linda. I found his post. He's looking for a part-time secretary. Unfortunately, I'm not skilled for that type of work.
My background is IT - system administrator, technical writing, program manager, tech support and then in addition to that I have event planning and fundraising specialist experience.
I haven't really done much job hunting, so I want to at least give me an opportunity to find something along with what I'm already trained for.

Just wanted to post an update. I was re-hired by HP! I started back to work on Thursday, Dec 10th. I'm really happy to be back on the job. I am assigned permanently to the Symantec account doing SharePoint Administration. Thanks to everyone for your well-wishes and support. I am truly blessed!
