John and I went to the informational/testing sessions tonight. Wow. Great idea. Good information. We listened to Linda Phillips, RN talk about the 'center', learned about the medical procedures for cataracts and macular degeneration and glaucoma from Dr. Michelle Akler and took a tour of the center where mini health stations were set up. We had our vision tested, our blood pressure taken, and our eye pressure checked for glaucoma. My mom has glaucoma and her mother also had it. I probably would not have gotten tested--maybe until it was too late to do anythng about my eyes--if not for Kate mentioning it to me at a DADBA lunch last month. Thanks Kate. You saved us from worrying. My glaucoma readings were 10. I understand that readings over 25 may be a concern.
