Do you think it is worth it to put an ad in the Yellow Pages? I have really had a struggle with getting the word out about my shop. I know I need to advertise but want to spend wisely

What kind of business do you have? I guess that would matter but the real issue, I think, is this:
Do they still print the yellow pages? I know for a while there were about 3 or 4 companies printing some form of yellow pages, but does anyone really use them anymore? I would invest in a website and Search Engine Optimization. I don't do that kind of work, but I know there are a few DADBA guys that do. Tom at PC Pickup comes to mind right off the bat. I'd give him a call.

Not a good idea unless you make buko bucks. Word of mouth and DADBA are the best ways to advertise your product.
Be active, post on this board, and let your product be known here, tell us how it will help us, and then let us tell others about YOU and how YOU can help our family and friends.
Blessings, Linda

I agree with Linda, Yellow page ads are very expensive. Word of mouth is your most cost efficient form of advertising.
Another thought I had was to connect with the other members here who offer pet products. You could all cross promote - give a discount to their customers.

Another idea would be to search our DADBA members that offer promotional materials like Dollars and Sense. Advertising there might be much more economical and you could probably customize the area for the ads to go. Search under "promotional materials" in the business directory.
And, of cource, many of the DADBA members offer a discount!!

I only get 2 phone calls a year from the phone book and it does not generate a sale. I do use Larry with the Coffee news, Tid bits and the News Herald. I have found these work well for me. You have to advertise consistently for up to 3 months before you will get phone calls. I have been with coffee News for a over a year and I get 2-3 Coupons a week from it. I hope this helps. I noticed you are in Taylor I would cross promote with you
