This is a constant concern for all of us. With everything we do we seem to provide more and more of information that used to be considered "secret" like your social security number to be able to get things done in our society. Keep in mind that these are for the cost of recreating documents, and time spent correcting the problem. They usually do not include any monetary damage done by the thief. So clearly avoidance of the theft of your identity is the way to go.
