I know, EVERYONE says they are unique.
I'm sure you will agree that a credit card processing expert that will help a business reduce its credit card fees without asking the owner to change processors IS Unique. So unique, in fact, that I can only find two other businesses in the US offer the same service.
But I offer services even THEY don't offer.
I have four and a half years experience in credit card processing. I received training in credit cards from what is now Bank of America Merchant Services. Until 1974, VISA was called BankAmericard. I also have 10 years experience training cashiers on VISA/MasterCard procedures and several years responding to Chargeback requests for CompUSA.
ANYONE can come into your store and lower your Qualified Rate. They still make money because there are over 25 price points in a credit card processing contract.
Sorry, I seem to be writing a book.
What I do, in a nutshell, is review 4-12 statements (more is better), determine the Qualified, Mid Qualified and Non Qualified rates and what is CAUSING the Mid and Non Qualified surcharges. I then produce a summary sheet for the business owner with amount I can save business on rates and what can be saved on process and procedural changes in an average month. My fee is that total amount of Average monthly savings, once solutions in place.
The solution comes through consulting with owner to produce "Standardized Work Instructions". The instructions and training to implement will reduce or eliminate costly processing errors.
Best part for business owner. There is no direct cost to business. Just savings. The evaluation is FREE. The summary is FREE. The solution is only thing with a fee and so long as owner follows the work instructions as we set them up, their FEE will be just one Average Month's Savings. Depending on business type, I am open to bartering on fee.
I will still write for North American Bancard, a Troy based company. Rates I will propose for merchant will be rates I can give if current processor won't. I can also offer Gift Cards, Check Processing, Merchant Capital (purchasing of future credit card sales to finance immediate projects or expansion).
And what happens if business owner decides to sign with NAB? Business will STILL get the consulting and training but will have the fee waived. It is MY opinion that is a sales agents JOB to fully train owner on policies that may hurt them through higher fees.
Why is this business type so rare and why am I doing this? MOST sales agents can make a LOT more money in sales than in service of the client. That is EXACTLY why I do this. I am not in this business to be rich, I want to make a good living while being completely honest with my customers and giving them the BEST service I can. Most Sales Agent do not know MasterCard and VISA rules and will tell merchant what they want to hear. What they don't tell you is costing you much higher fees.
I didn't mention earlier; I'm Bill Pirtle, owner of Merchant Processing Consulting & Training. Please visit my website at www.merchantprocessingconsulting.com Pages of interest will include 25 most expensive processing errors all businesses do and tips to prevent identity theft.
Glad to be back in DADBA.
