At last weeks IBR one of the side discussions was the web, and where it is heading. We were talking about how much information is available, yet many users do not find it impressive. Now if you got hours to kill or if you want to be amazed visit this site below.
What it does is search out every blog, bulletin board, journal online and reads emotions. It then categorizes the emotions into searchable parameters. For example you want to search out people that are feeling lonely and have made lonely blog entries, it will put them into a searchable file.
It then also files away the emotions so you can look back on previous months, years, etc.
You can search for people that are mad, either in your town, state or country. All emotions are searchable. Now I put this in the inspirational area because the site is a work of art, very inspirational when it comes to web technology.
Maybe this thread should have went into the debate section as when has the internet gone to far, given mere mortals the power to check the feelings of the world, then if need be contact the people that need help, or people that can help you based on their emotions.
A good example of using this technology may be. Searching the emotion suicidal and then helping someone through their personal crisis, or searching for people feeling broke and sending them a email on a work from home offer.
Regardless of the debate and what you think. It is wise to know that everything posted online is being categorized one way or another. It is not only your text, but your actual feelings being harvested for future use.
