These are such a simple steps, you are probably amazed you did not think of it before. If you think long and hard about it , the device really has no use other than completely wasting your time. You can surely do without it. So many great thinkers of the past never had one, and look at what they accomplished. I would suggest all new business owners simply follow these steps for business success. You will have much more time to think, plan, create and time to market your business. Step 1- Unplug TV and cable Step 2- Take TV to vehicle. Step 3- Drive to donation center Step 4- Give TV to donation center(repeat as necessary for multiple TV`s) Step 5 (advanced users only)-Get radio for listening to music, news, weather, emergency information etc. -Replace TV stand with bookshelf, buy books as needed.
The average American watches 8 hours of TV a day, equal to 7-10 years of their lives in front of the TV Is this how you want to spend 1/7 of your life? Imagine the other things that can be accomplished or other ways to entertain yourself if you never had a favorite TV show or several favorite TV shows. I just don't understand why TV is a total bad thing. I find that TV is a good way to find out what your competition is up to, what products are out there and what your customers and potential customers are using. SPEED has been my friend on many occasions. Especially since one of my competitors host a show on SPEED. I guess if you sat around watching soap operas all day long or something it would be a waste. Plus TV is a great form of advertising and I know we have DADBA members that are in the cable TV industry and TV advertising industry and would hate to see you all turning your TV off. LMAO

I get what you are saying Kevin, it's a matter of paying attention to the time you have. Many many people say I'd do that IF I had the time. What Kevin points out is that we do have the time, and we are spending it on things that (for many of us) are not productive for our businesses. I have discovered however, that many networks repeat their programing thru the night, and if I leave the TV on while i am sleeping I absorb the info...

They'll complain about not having enough time to get work done and then waste so much time in a day. It's like the people that complain about not having money for necessities but have a few dogs and cats, cell phones, smoke, cable, internet and so on. It's all about priorities.

(((((I would suggest all new business owners simply follow these steps...))))Great information everyone! I agree with Mary, smart post and I am a TV user while I sleep also. From the original post also. The word NEW business owner. New business owners should be doing other things and not watching the tube, nor have a set schedule of TV shows to follow. Keith, sorry that would be a no, and please do not ever call the EPDS (Enhanced Digital Presentation System) a T.V. again. P.S. I used to have a TV show, I used to be a regular TV viewer, then they canceled the West Wing and my life fell apart. i`ll never get addicted to a show again.

Did you know that people who earn less than $25,000 a year usually watch 46 hours or more a week of television.
People who earn more than $100,000 a year watch LESS than 7 hours a week.
Television--the Income Reducer
If I have to watch television to spend some time with John who always has his nose in front of the screen, I always make certain that I am doing several things for my business (like putting stickers on brochures, and addressing envelopes, or folding flyers, etc) at the same time.
Blessings, Linda

Those who are busyest (is that even a word?) make the most money. Look at Donald Trump, he sleeps 5 hours a night. if your working when your competetion is sleeping, how can they ever get ahead of you???

I say keep the tv and make it play training videos or stuff related to what your business is for everyone to see.
