It`s a DADBA thing, if your not attending meetings and going out of your way to meet people and network your business you should be, what happens after awhile is posted below.... I remember a time when I had a handful of friends in the area. If I wanted to go grab a beer and a burger, maybe one of my friends or a couple was not busy. Now I have a list in my phone of roughly 100 people I consider friends. I used to walk in to stores and wonder who owns this place. Now I know exactly who owns the store before I even shop there. I used to go to restaurants and bars and not know anyone. Now I know the owner, managers, assistant managers and pretty much all the staff. I used to never know what was going on, things to do over the weekend, parties, get togethers, events. Now I can choose from a list of things to do. I used to pay full price for everything. Now just about everything I buy now is discounted, or bartered. Sometimes I did not know the answer. Now I know who does have the answer and can call them and ask or set up an appointment to get the answer. Just some quick thoughts, what is different now with you since you started networking through DADBA?

What is different? I've met some new friends. I've gotten to see how others run their business and what their business ethics are. I've gotten a few customers and deal with a lot of DADBA members for my business operations. Out of all of the members I deal with there have only been a couple that I would never do business with again because of pour porfessionalism. I guess that isn't bad seeing how many I deal with and how many members there are. You can't expect to be 100% happy with everyone but 2 out of 500 isn't bad!

My friends and family now call me when they are looking for products and services because I can recommend someone that I know!

Mine are the same way, Brian. Recently, my Mom called me for a mortgage broker and my brother-in-law called for car dealers. It was great to be able to refer them to my DADBA friends. I also have enjoyed the benefits of others doing the same thing for my businesses. Lynn from Lynn's Massage Therapy recommended me to one of her clients for Arbonne's herbal muscle massage gel, Kyle Adkins' Mom is coming over for eyeglasses tonight, and one of Frank Bentley's friends is coming over for her new eyeglasses later this month. Word of mouth advertising is very effective and getting to know each other through DADBA has been fantastic!

So true, before I buy any thing I make sure to see if a DADBA member has it first!
Almost went to Texas Road house cause we were by the mall, then realized Mt. Jack was member, so we went there Tuesday and got 10% off!

When you guys go into these places do you tell them you are a DADBA member? I deal with a lot of DADBA members and eat at a lot of their businesses but I never get a discount.

Some do give discounts some don't..... but even just letting them know that you are a member and supporting their business is always a good thing to.

I would never expect a discount. With soaring cost of goods and the Mi. economy most companies need the full mark up. The discount you get today could mean someones job tomorrow. I look at this way if i get one I would be most gracious but just a smile and thank you goes along way. By keeping it in the family the family nver has to worry where the next dollar is coming from. Just my 2 cents

Hi Bob, You do have your gold card right? Most of the DADBA restaraunts to give you something off if you just mention DADBA or bring out the card. I know I don't promote a discount but always give one if DADBA members use me, even if they don't mention it (if I didn't remember, please do tell me!)

What is this card about?

Hey Bob ~ I have some at the office and will slide some under your door for you and Amber..... We got new ones about 3 months ago. The membership card was designed to "prove" you were a member ( like at a big restaurant where they can't possibly know all of us) so that you can get your discount. But now that there are soo many members most don't ask for it... but I still should have given you one.... Sorry about that!
