Tis the season to show love and concern and give good cheer. Something to make you think...
Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves. --Philippians 2:3, NIV
Real encouragement occurs when words are spoken from a heart of love to another's recognized fear. -- Larry Crabb
A man leaves all kinds of footprints when he walks through life. Some you can see ... others are invisible, like the prints he leaves across other people's lives. -- Margaret Lee Runbeck
If people only knew how they might cheer some lonely heart or lift up some drooping spirit, or speak some word that shall be lasting in its effects for all coming time, they would be up and about it. -- Dwight L. Moody

Something to think about this Christmas...
Make the most of the present moment. No occasion is unworthy of our best efforts. God often uses the humble occasions and little things to shape the course of a man's life. -- James Garfield
Blessed is the season which engages the whole world in a conspiracy of love. -- Hamilton Wright Mabi

Linda ~ I really like that last one.... especially considering that my resolutions last about a week if not less!!! Although I have set some "goals" ( I kid myself that by renaming them I will have a different approach.. LOL!!!) that I think are a little more attainable!

Laura, I'm sure you know that goals not written down are merely dreams.
Whatever you want to happen in 2008, your chances of it happening multiply when you put it on paper and look at it often.
I have 5 goals written down. I intend to work 'smart' to achieve those 5 goals and whatever spins off from them will be like icing on the cake.
I believe God wants us to profit and prosper, but He wants us to depend on Him to help us plan and work for our successes so that we might in turn, share with others and glorify Him.

I long to accomplish a great and noble task, but it is my chief duty to accomplish small tasks as if they were great and noble. -- Helen Keller

I would rather have one rose and a kind word from a friend while I'm here than a whole truck load when I'm gone.

It is interesting that you wrote this Marilyn. I believe with my whole heart, body and soul that the #6th Commandment, "Thou shall not kill/murder" includes badly hurting someone.
I know it is possible to 'kill' someone's spirit; it has happened to me and it is a death--a death of the relationship and the spirit/emotion called love. (I think that is why it comes before #7 "Thou shall not commit adultry".)
Many times our words are not meant to hurt, but they do. People tend to not think before talking.
