Great meeting at Wild Buffalo Wings, the parmesan garlic wings were delish!
I am so glad Kevin mentioned the importance of referals to DADBA members and keeping the dollars within the group. Both Leanna and I also mentioned all the people that had given us business or we had done business with this month. It was quite a list!
I CHALLENGE all members to keep a log this month and report how many DADBA members gave you business or that you gave business to this month. I believe if we track the results we will see some serious revenue produced from this group. It's also a great way to justify your membership marketing dollars, I know my membership paid for itself within one month.

You are so right Kathy. Not only is it important to do business within the group, it's profitable and fun.
One reason for the contest I have each month is in purchasing the gift cards, I gave business to Lynn from AD-XL, a DADBA member, and with her wonderful gift card programs I am able to reward those who support me. And at the same time, as you mentioned, I am finding that tracking those who I do business with is much easier.
Not only have I learned from which areas my clients come from, I also learned where I want to spend my time and energies and money.
I love this group, and I wholeheartedly support the networking efforts and thank God for the leadership we have--Laura is fantastic!

Many thoughts come to mind, what comes around, goes around.Buy something from somebody, they might buy something from you. Do good onto others, they do good onto you..
Anyway you look at it, it`s just smart to buy from the group.
Remember: If there is no category for that service or product..... call Laura or Mark and tell them.
Anybody see any categories that have been overlooked, services or products you need?
I just told Laura "Electrician" As Zelerino is now back to full time Union.

The only thing I see missing is a motorcycle shop. LOL I was at Rosenau Powersports in Dearborn Heights last night for a class and I do a lot of business with them. I would try and get them on board. Talk to their general manager, Chip.

I always look to DADBA first when I need a product or service. We have so many wonderful members and I really enjoy the relationships I've built within the group. I very confidently refer my friends and family to dadba members when they need a product or service by saying I have a friend in that business because it's true. I have a friend who sells jewelry, owns a ups store, represents Shaklee, details cars, has a great greeting card system, does marketing, sells cars, assembles meals and makes the most delicious cookies, plans trips, sells awesome cheesecake, troubleshoots computer problems, offers voip phone service, offers janitorial services and property management, makes the best butter burgers and frozen custard, to just name a few....get it? We are all friends who help one another. If you really listen to people, you will hear what they are looking for and you can help them get just about anything by referring them to a friend in DADBA. I also appreciated what Kevin shared at the meeting last week. The challenge on this posting to track your Dadba business--both in and out is great. Seeing it on paper really helps. I also appreciate what Leanna mentions about listening to what people need to be able to refer Dadba members. And that means we need to be fully educated as much as possible on the other members' businesses to get the word out!!!

As a business coach I have to say that it's awesome to see how you're all doing the ultimate in business building which is networking. Kathy and Leanne showed some great strategies by announcing who they've given business to and received business from.
Leanne your post about who you know in the business is a true strategy of how networking works in your daily life. Great job.
Kathy your challenge to all the members is great. Keep a list and track it. This is how business gets done and everyone needs to follow her call. Thanks Kathy.
I also want to let everyone know that I have several clients all over the US and Canada. The reason I'm telling you this is because I have the ability to connect folks with people all over the place. My networking for DADBA goes way beyond Detroit and Downriver as I keep my frontline (DADBA Members) contacts as my go to list for everything. Keep that in mind as well if you do business with clients outside the area. There could be DADBA members that would benefit from your clients outside the area as well.

I have been tracking again this month and as I mentioned at the lunch meeting at Mt. Jack's, I spent over $1300 with DADBA members this month and I also made $1200 from DADBA members using my services this month. If everyone could add $1200 to their bottom line a month, and use DADBA members for stuff they already purchase, what kind of impact would this make on the Downriver economy?
I would love to hear other numbers, maybe Laura could do a 2008 prediction of total revenue for the group if members provide approx. results.

Lynn, I am so grateful to you for providing those gift cards to our group.
Everyone here knows that I purchased two cards, and each month the item of the month is given out to the winner of my contest. It's wonderful to give a unique 'Thank You gift' those who support my Shaklee business.
I like them for more than just that reason though. With that purchase, which was less than $65 for both, I have supported the DADBA group, your business, Cookies By Design, and Ray Hunter's--all are local business ventures. And this is an all-year, 12 month, plan. Wow!
Now if we can think of a way to incorporate Shaklee products into a 'gift card'...
