My husband watched his Discovery tv show all the time, and was really upset when I mentioned this to him. He said that Boyd was way too young to go.

Yeah, him and his shop was the feature of the show "American Hot Rod". A lot of people don't know this but Boyd employeed some very talented people that later became famous builders themselves. Chip Foose from the show "OverHaulin" and Jesses James from West Coast Choppers are just two of them.

William F. Buckley Jr. (Author and conservative commentator) also died yesterday at age 82.

For those of you old enough to remember--
David Groh, the man [Joe] Rhoda Morgenstern married and divorced during the run of Valerie Harper`s hit 1970s sitcom 'Rhoda'.
And Roy Scheider, the actor best known for his role as a police chief in the blockbuster movie 'Jaws', has died.
Also, Barry Morse, who played a detective pursuing the wrongly accused Dr. Richard Kimble in 1960s TV series 'The Fugitive'.

That's always a sad moment during the Oscars when they run a memorial film of all the movie industry people who have died during the previous year.
