Something I have been thinking about for a while no is doing my detailing mobile, since I am finding it hard to find a garage.
If you had a detailer that came to your house to detail your vehicle in your own garage or driveway would you be willing to let them use your water and electrical?

I think that is a great idea.... or you could do it at the DADBA office. Pick a day a month or so and everyone could schedule their appointments with you and come here.

I was going to see if it would be alright to do it at the building. I like to do it at home as much as possible because I have an air conditioned garage. But for the vehicles that can not fit in my garage or the people that wanted me to do it at their house I might go this route.
There are a lot of mobile detailers in the warmer climate states. Some of them use the customers electrical and water and some have water tanks and generators.

Now there are two great ideas! If one doesn't want to have to go out, you could go to their home. (definite advantage for say, moms with young children, or those whose work is not as portable), or done at the firehouse, one could work/network while it was being done. Though if done at the firehouse, I wouldn't want everyone else to know how bad our car was! Maybe I'd have you sign a confidentiality statement--that's probably what Leanna did. Paid you off so you'd say her van wasn't too bad!

That would be great. If you where self contained you could also hit the small car lots and clean their cars also.

Ok, I'll look into doing this. I sell to a ton of mobile detailers so I'm going to talk with some of them and see what they are doing.

That would be great Bob. I thought you didn't want to do as much detailing though...change of mind? I know I will need you after the snow is gone!

It is just so tiny and anything bigger than a sub compact won't fit in it. LOL My preference is to still look for some larger garage space though. IF I decided to go mobile there would be some air tools and such that I would not be able to use that I really like using.

I think mobile would be an asset to you customers, I think the money your customers would save on gas and the time they would save would offset the water and electricty that you would use at their home.

We shall see how it goes. I am not even 50% sure this is something I want to get into or not. I is sooooooooooooo much easier detailing from home where I have all of my tools. But I might give it a try on a couple cars first and see how it goes.
Plus, you have to remember if it takes me 4 hours + to do a car and I am doing a vehicle at someones home that is not home and nature calls. Well....LMAO It's pack up and run to McDonalds time!

Hey bob why not start a mobile detail shop but instead you, you have girls in Bikini's. A guy done this in Georgia with a lawn cutting service. I would be more than happy to drive them around

You ever see how girls at those bikini car washes wash cars? I'd rather shoot my paint with sand! LMAO
Ok, well I'm working to get this operation up and going. I think I have found on part timer to help me out who I can train to do the detailing as well.
I'm working on prices as well and what services I will offer for mobile clients.
I know I will require outdoor electrical supply, hose spigot, shaded area is best, and a place to work off of the street.

leave it to you to worry about how clean the car gets and what the girls are doing to the paint, Bob!! You are most definitely in the right line of work!
