Found this great brewery down in the new center area this past weekend - but I have to tell you it is hidden (almost literally!!) from plain sight! MotorCity Brewing works is a small micro-brewery hidden back on Canfield just off Woodward and M10.
I have to warn you all - Take heed when trying the "Ghetto Blaster!" good but powerful!!!

Laura this place is AWESOME! I have had Ghetto Blaster and other beers from there and they are GREAT!!! They have started serving food as well. Check this place out if you are in the Wayne State Area. Great place to go after the theater or a Wings game.

I have been there once for a after work reception. The food is good there. I have a question are they a DADBA member? If not did you sign them up first before you had your first drink? HMMMMMMMMM. Remember what Kevin said.  |

I didn't know that they serve food now too!! We have to go down there about once a week and it is nice to know that we can grab a bite to eat too! As for the Ghetto Blaster ~ WOW!!! That stuff is good but soo strong!!! That beer will make a man out of yeah for sure! I remember the first time I tried it at the Michigan Beer Brewers festival in Ypsi...... I almost cried after the first BIG GULP of it!!! LOL!!!! |

American Premium Blends is working with Motor City Brewing to make a new product.... shhhhh don't tell anyone... its still in development.... I will keep you updated....

That is soo cool!!! They have a great beer line ~ I can't wait to see/taste what is in the works!
By the way Russ ~ I need to restock the office with the juice..... it was a huge hit and we are now out. Are you guys coming to a meeting soon? Can you bring me one of each? And can I pay for it that night?

I Love Motor City Brewing Works and Ghetto Blaster Rocks!! One of the owners is the son-in-law of Fred, one of the owners of American Premium Blends. Its a small world ;-)

Motor City Brewing Works is located at 470 West Canfield in Detroit (Warren exit west off 1-75) and is open 4pm - midnight Sunday thru Thursday, 4pm - 1am Fri & Sat. The kitchen keeps the same hours as the tavern so you can order food during all open hours.
