I read a very interesting thing today when I was looking for decorating tips. I was reading that we "stage" our home when we're ready to sell it, but don't do those things for ourselves to enjoy living in it. It referenced a lady that actually cried after a realtor helped her stage it. She said it was now her dream home and now she had to sell it. So, maybe some of us should learn how to stage our home for ourselves?! (Then we can always pass the info on to someone who needs it.)

Oh Sarah, how sadly true that is.
John is always saying, let's fix it up and sell it. Well, I think that is why I put off doing things the big things that I know will help sell my home. I don't want to sell.
Blessings, Linda

I don't want to sell. Blessings, Linda Growing up my dad was always saying we had to keep all the paint and everything neutral (white/off white) so when we sold it we wouldn't have to paint. I choose to go the other way now--let's do whatever we want (well almost) because WE are living in it! You should do those improvements so YOU can enjoy them, then if you do decide to sell, it's already done.

Well, not to say anything bad about my husband, but the last time he started a home improvement it took him 22 years to get to the stage wheere I could forget about it. (Mind you, my kitchen it is still not finished.) I do not want to move, or start another project. EVER.
Blessings, Linda

Watching home staging or any home improvement on TV really just gives me ideas for decorating. I agree that you must enjoy your home and I use color for accents. Linda, I don't think that you're ever done remodeling! Maybe someday we'll finish the basement. Marilyn www.RE-note.com
